How Visitors Rate the Chengdu People's Park

Local tourists from China

Last month, I traveled to Chengdu and visited People's Park to experience the leisurely slow life of the locals. The weather in Chengdu that day was incredibly sunny. The park was lush with trees all around, and everywhere you looked, people were sitting together, enjoying tea, chatting, or playing cards—so relaxed! We ordered a pot of tea and a few local snacks, slowly sipping our tea and chatting, soaking in the leisurely time in Chengdu. I highly recommend that drinking tea in the park and watching Sichuan opera are must-do things when visiting Chengdu!

I booked a hotel near People's Park in Chengdu. The park is really a lot of fun, haha! The matchmaking corner is especially interesting, with a matchmaking wall that has everything listed—age, criteria, and contact info. If you find someone suitable, you can contact them directly, haha! I personally think it’s pretty cool. In the afternoon, there are also many vendors selling Chengdu handicrafts, which really adds to the atmosphere.

People's Park in Chengdu has a great environment. I came here based on recommendations from online platforms to experience the local tea culture. But there were really too many people; we waited in line for a long time to get into Heming Tea House. I was lucky enough to witness the tea-making performance by the staff, which was truly impressive. The park is quite large, but I didn't explore much of it. The transportation is very convenient, with a subway station right at the entrance.
